Clear subject line: “Looking for John Henstock, born 1850 Derby”
All known details: Names, dates, locations, family members
What you’ve already checked: “I’ve searched Ancestry and found X…”
Specific questions: “Does anyone have access to Derby parish records?”

Example post:
“I’m searching for information about Thomas Henstock (b. 1880, Sheffield). I know he married Mary Johnson in 1905, and they had three children. I’ve found them in the 1911 census but can’t trace Thomas before 1900. Does anyone have records from Sheffield in the 1880s-1890s? Or know of any other Thomas Henstocks in that area?”
